The whole family was on site before 6:30am this morning (to the kids’ delight!), with a car boot picnic, including biscuits to sweeten the blow of the early morning. It was worth it though, to observe this real tangible step forward. Beyond excited to see both the base of the house taking shape, as well as the plot starting to look more like a garden-to-be rather than an overgrown field!
On Monday, we take first delivery of the house kit from Fiskarhedenvillan, another early morning! Can’t wait to see the progress that will follow that particular milestone. We have had indications of four weeks after the first delivery for the house to be weatherproof, which would put us at week 41 (second week of October for those uninitiated to the Swedish habit of working by calendar weeks rather than actual dates), which seems so close after the extended periods of waiting we had prior to the actual start of build. It is an interesting contrast, going into the darker period of the year, with this tangible feeling of excitement underlining it all!
Some more action timelapse from the concrete being poured, and smoothed (because I discovered the option to speed up footage, apologies for any motion sickness 😉 )
