Apologies for the radio silence! Let us start with an admission that this post has been a while in the writing! It was initially meant to cover weeks six and seven of the build, but actually is now covering slightly more. In reality though, with the first phase of the build drawing to a completion, the site is now at a stand-still until the next phase commences towards the end of November!
Far from being gloomy however, this means everything has gone (nearly!) to plan so far, and we are on time for where we are meant to be in terms of progress. The house is weather-proof, insulation is in place, and first phase electrical / plumbing is in place.
As for the house, here it is, finally in all its red glory!
In fact, the above shots on a cloudy day do not do the warmth and depth of the colour justice, so I will just leave this “in progress” shot with actual sunshine here for reference… <3
While window frames are mostly in place, it has also been the first slight glitch of the build so far. It turns out that “straight” window profile is not the same as “aligned” or even “not just chopped off”. Those of you that know me well will see how this bugs me no end! We have been promised it will be rectified however, and our windows will no longer look neither uncompleted nor sad. 😉
Before the workmen left the site, we did get some interior 360 shots done for anyone interested in an indoors peek – here! 🙂
